In honor of The Dark Knight Day (it’s finally here!!!!) — wanted to share this post from Gawker. A lot has been said about this movie, and Heath Ledger - but, this stuck me as so true. Here is the post, in it’s entirety:

Just in case you’ve been hiking the Appalachian trail for the past seven months, there’s this movie called The Dark Knight coming out today. It’s a Batman movie, he of the cowl and the scowl, and it features his most nefarious foe, the Joker. That slithering baddie is played by Heath Ledger, an actor of beguiling good looks and talent who died—tragically, accidentally, hugely—in January. But his performance in this film lives on, and it’s said to be the stuff of legend. Critics have been slamming their shoes on their desks for the past week, heralding it as “revelatory” and Brando-esque. The strength of this performance presented Warner Bros., months ago, with something of a conundrum. Should they continue plans to make his leering visage the movie’s chief marketing image, or should they shy away from death, retreating to the simultaneously brighter and dimmer lights of Christian Bale and his boringer friends? Ultimately they chose to continue with their Joker-centric media deluge, and people got very angry! How dare they?! The man is dead, reduced to mere ashes floating in the Indian Ocean! It’s immoral. And to that, we say bullshit.

If you aren’t already watching Joss Whedon’s musical, online mini-series, you simply must! It’s brazilliant and Neil Patrick Harris is, once again, my hero.  Act 1 was released on Tuesday, Act 2 came out today and Act 3 will be up on Saturday. Amazing.

Jerry tells Brian that Ollie Ray was part of the mutiny. Dan and Brian confront Ollie Ray. Question for all you boys out there - What is it with guys and “their word?” I totally understand honesty and promises, I do, I get it. But, you are on freakin’ Big Brother, so shut the hell up about “your word.”

For the preacher’s son. Who, in the first 10 minutes of the 3rd episode, is lying, backstabbing and hooking up. Lord, hear our prayer.

BB House Montage - Oh sweet jesus, it looks like Annie Oakley threw up in there. Though, the 50s Diner kitchen is kind of cool. From here on out the HOH must be called The Fonz. I made that up, but seriously, how cool would that be?

It’s that time again! Big Brother 10 starts this Sunday and the Cast Bios are up! Here are my initial thoughts on this seasons houseguests (*I did NOT watch them on the Early Show this morning, so these reactions are based on their profiles and pictures alone — it’s more fun that way).

Before I start, it seems that they have asked each of the houseguests about their political views and, if given the opportunity, what political office they would most like to hold. In this much talked about election year, I can only assume that this will be the theme of the season. I expect the house will be decorated with defaulted mortgage papers, bald eagle feathers and Wal-Mart shopping bags.
